China Plastics Processing Industry Conference on Promoting Stable Volume and
Quality Improvement of Foreign Trade

On July 25, 2025, the "2025 China Plastics Processing Industry Conference on Promoting Foreign Trade Stability and Quality Improvement" was successfully held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The conference was hosted by the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, with strong support from the Zhejiang Plastics Industry Association, and organized by Hangzhou Juxing New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. Over 120 representatives from the plastic industry's industrial chain, foreign trade-related units, and other sectors attended the event, including Wang Zhanjie, the president of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Fu Baozong, deputy director of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, Bai Ming, a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation and a second-level researcher, Lin Jianliang, vice chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, Wang Jianping, vice president and secretary-general of the Zhejiang Plastics Industry Association, and Xu Guoliang, chairman of Jianhua Industrial Group. The conference was chaired by Jia Ning, deputy secretary-general and director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, and Lu Shan, assistant director of the Information Department.

In his opening speech, Wang Zhanjie, the president of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, pointed out that the total export value of plastic products in China reached 106.09 billion US dollars in 2024, increasing by 5.4% compared to the previous year. The trade surplus was 88.29 billion US dollars, accounting for 8.9% of the total trade surplus of China's goods. From January to June 2025, the total export value of plastics and their products was 71.17 billion US dollars, increasing by 1.0% compared to the previous year; the total import value was 28.55 billion US dollars, decreasing by 4.9%, and the trade surplus was 42.56 billion US dollars, accounting for 7.3% of the total trade surplus of China's foreign trade. It maintained a certain growth trend. However, due to the decline in the world's openness index, the intensification of unilateralism and protectionism, multilateralism and free trade are facing severe challenges, and the foreign trade development of China's plastic processing industry is facing many uncertainties. Against this backdrop, how to actively respond to changes in the external environment, enhance the ability of industry enterprises to deal with trade frictions, address common demands of foreign trade enterprises, and promote the stable and high-quality foreign trade of the plastic processing industry has become an urgent issue that our entire industry is facing. The president proposed four development suggestions: first, to firmly maintain development confidence and actively respond to challenges; second, to strengthen technological innovation and enhance product competitiveness; third, to actively expand international markets and optimize market layout; fourth, to focus on brand building and maintain the international economic order. Enterprises should, with greater confidence and more practical measures, strive to promote the stable and high-quality foreign trade of the plastic processing industry, and make greater contributions to the high-quality development of China's plastic processing industry.

Lin Jianliang, the vice chairman of the Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce, stated in his speech that this conference, with the theme of "Promoting Foreign Trade to Maintain Volume and Improve Quality", directly addresses the pain points and difficulties in the industry's development. He hopes that enterprises will maintain confidence, jointly face new challenges and opportunities; deepen cooperation and continuously strengthen the industrial chain and supply chain; adhere to the right path and innovate, continuously enhance competitiveness and influence.

Wang Jianping, the vice president and secretary-general of the Zhejiang Province Plastics Industry Association, delivered the welcoming speech. She stated that this conference, with the theme of "Promoting Foreign Trade and Stabilizing Quantity and Quality", is expected to not only provide guidance for industry enterprises but also inject momentum for them to break through and find solutions. As an important base of China's plastic industry, Zhejiang has always focused on innovation-driven and open cooperation to promote high-quality development of the industry. It looks forward to deepening cooperation with industry peers across the country and jointly exploring new paths, technologies and models for improving foreign trade quality.

Xu Guoliang, the chairman of Jianhua Industrial Group, stated in his speech that as an industry professional who has been deeply involved in the foreign trade sector for many years, Hangzhou Juxing has been continuously promoting industry progress and empowering the industry for a bright future. As the organizer, they hope to leverage the high-level, in-depth, and warm communication platform established by the China Plastics Association to listen to more voices, gather more strength, cultivate the core competitiveness of the industry to resist foreign trade risks, and promote the expansion of development space for China's plastic processing industry.
In the keynote presentation session, Wang Zhanjie, the president of the China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Bai Ming, a member of the academic committee of the Ministry of Commerce Research Institute and a senior researcher, Fu Baizong, the deputy director of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, and eleven other leaders and experts, respectively delivered professional reports on the current situation, challenges and opportunities of the foreign trade development in the plastic processing industry, the international and domestic situations and the overseas strategy, the compliance management of enterprises going overseas, the risk response to trade frictions, and the analysis of the overseas investment environment.

Bai Ming, a member of the Academic Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and a second-level researcher, delivered a keynote speech titled "Sino-US Trade Friction and How Chinese Enterprises Can Respond"

Fu Baizong, the deputy director of the International Cooperation Center of the National Development and Reform Commission, delivered a keynote speech titled "The International and Domestic Circumstances Faced by China's Enterprises and Their Overseas Expansion Strategies".

Wang Jing, a partner and registered tax consultant of Yingkouricheng Tax Consulting Firm, delivered a presentation titled "Viewing Tax Integration in the Context of Finance and Taxation from an Internationalization Strategy Perspective of Enterprises".

Wu JinSong, the chairman and general manager of Nanjing Jufeng New Materials Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled "Building a Ship, Navigating Far Away".

Wang Jie, the general manager of Hangzhou Juxing New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech titled "The Pioneer Alliance: Chinese Manufacturing Unites to Go Global and Rebuild Global Brand Influence"

Chen Qiuming, a senior partner of Beijing Haotian (Shanghai) Law Firm, delivered a keynote speech titled "Risk Management of Trade Frictions and Legal Practice for Protecting Overseas Investment Rights and Interests".

Ye Xianmin, a senior auditor from the Quality Assurance Center of the China Quality Association, delivered a keynote speech titled "Corporate Low-Carbon Management Strategies under International Green Trade Barriers"

This meeting also specially arranged a roundtable dialogue session titled "Industry Enterprises Discussing the Path to Overcoming Challenges in Going Global". The event invited six guests: Ye Ruiqing, the Party Secretary and Chairman of Zhejiang Shenda Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd.; Zhou Fei, the General Manager of Jinfeng Machinery Liyang Co., Ltd.; Li Hua, the General Manager of Guangdong Jucheng Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.; Zhang Haijun, the Deputy General Manager of Jiangsu Yusheng Technology Co., Ltd.; Liu Xiaojun, the Founder of Xiangren International; and Li Sheng, the Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Jinfa Technology Development Co., Ltd. They also provided practical suggestions for industry enterprises to go global.
Currently, the international economic and trade landscape is undergoing profound changes, with intensified competition among major countries, continuous regional conflicts and geopolitical frictions. Enterprises in the international market face both challenges and opportunities. This conference aims to establish a communication platform, review the current situation and pain points of the plastic processing industry's foreign trade, explore new development paths under complex circumstances, and jointly discuss solutions to the difficulties in going global. In the future, the China Plastics Processing Industry Association will continue to promote the interaction of policies, technologies and markets, help industrial chain enterprises further enhance their international competitiveness and influence, and through the dual improvement of "quality" and "quantity", demonstrate the resilience and vitality of Made in China, and contribute to the high-quality development of international trade.
